These are the resources I recommend for running your media website.
I use these tools personally in my own business, and I can vouch for all of these tools.
These are the same tools that I recommend to close friends and family members.
Setting up your media website:
Namecheap: The best domain name registrar. Use Namecheap to buy your domain names. You get free WHOIS privacy protection with your purchase, so that no one will ever see your personal information.
SiteGround: Fast, reliable and immediate 24/7 customer support are the top priorities when choosing a web hosting provider. I recommend SiteGround as the easiest solution for getting your website up and running as fast as humanly possible. SiteGround offers a managed WordPress hosting solution that enables you to launch a professional WordPress-based website in a matter of minutes. If you’re new to building websites, I recommend SiteGround’s StartUp plan. Use Online Heaven’s SiteGround affiliate link to receive a special discount on your first month of SiteGround Managed WordPress web hosting.
WordPress: WordPress is the Content Management System (CMS) I use for all of my media websites. WordPress is powerful, and many of the top websites in the world run on WordPress. Very simple and easy to use.
StudioPress: You need a premium WordPress theme to make your media website look and feel professional. I’ve always used StudioPress themes for all of my media websites (including this one). I like StudioPress because it makes your media website look great, and also sets you up for the best SEO potential right out of the gate. StudioPress themes are also fast and lightweight, which is important.
Market research (keyword research, basically):
Keywords Everywhere: Free browser extension for Google Chrome and Firefox. Shows you approximate search volumes for keywords and key phrases every time you type something into Google. Great for getting rough estimates of how many people are searching for particular keywords on Google.
SEMrush: Excellent paid keyword research tool and general website health auditor.
Ahrefs: The best paid backlink checker and keyword research tool on the planet. Nothing really comes close to Ahrefs. If I had to choose one keyword research tool, I would go with Ahrefs.
Aweber: The email marketing software that most online marketers use. I use Aweber for Online Heaven, and it has worked great so far. It’s true that the “money is in the list.” When you collect someone’s email address, they are a potential client for life. You should collect email addresses on all of your media websites starting on day one.
How To Get Rich: Legendary publisher Felix Dennis explains what it really takes to get rich. This is the man who ran Maxim magazine back in the day, so he speaks from raw personal experience.
The 4-Hour Workweek: One of the most important books of the century. Tim Ferriss had incredible vision when he published this book in 2007, as he predicted the rise of remote work and designing your dream lifestyle from scratch. 4HWW had a massive influence on my life. If you’re new to running a business from your laptop, I recommend giving this book a read, as it will show you what’s truly possible in the era of “new media.”
The 10X Rule: Explains the level of work ethic required to achieve lasting success in the business world. No one teaches this stuff in school. You have to learn it from Grant Cardone, who runs a business empire. Very applicable to running a successful media website.
Weaponized Psychology System: The most powerful training on human behavior and sales psychology you’ll ever take. I only recommend this course for those who want to reach the highest levels of online business and life in general. I guarantee you won’t be able to find this quality of information anywhere else.
